EB-5 Investor Visa Center List

The closest thing the United States has to a “job-creating” visa is the EB-5 investor visa.  The EB-5 visa allows for foreign nationals to enter the United States and obtain lawful permanent residency in return for investing one million dollars  ($500,000 in certain circumstances) in a newly formed American company.  Additionally, the Eb-5 visa requires that the investment will result in the creation (or retention) of at least ten American jobs.

Multiple organizations offer potential EB-5 investors with numerous opportunities to invest in the United States and this hyperlink provides information about many of these opportunities. If you are interested in becoming an EB-5 investor, and would like assistance determining how and where to invest, please contact Gafner Law Firm.

  • This visa can also be attained by donating to a Regional Center. These donations do not involve running a business, but still require many conditions to be met and remain met.

You are correct, the EB5 visa for investors can be attained through a regional center. However, I caution that an EB-5 visa holder will need to invest in the regional center, not “donate.” There are numerous regional centers available throughout the United States and it is important to carefully research many of the regional centers before choosing one to invest in – it is just like the due diligence research needed before investing in any company.

  • Chris is absolutely correct. The investments must also be at a legitimate risk, which can sometimes be a bit disheartening for the immigrants to hear. Also, many times there is the impression that the jobs must merely be created, when in fact they must be sustained for at least two years.
